Personal Profile

Faith Muyonga Namayengo is a Ugandan female Food Scientist/Nutritionist, Senior lecturer Department of Nutritional Sciences. She is a holder a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nutrition (Wageningen University, The Netherlands), M.Sc. Applied Human Nutrition (University of Nairobi, Kenya), Post Graduate Dip. (Distinction) Maternal and Child Nutrition (International Agricultural Center, The Netherlands).  Her research interests evolve around food and nutrition security assessment, monitoring and impact evaluation of development interventions and maternal and child nutrition in developing economies, obesity research, food selection and costs of diets for children and young adults. She has a passion for innovations aimed at improving the income and food security of agrarian communities including those that promote income, agricultural production, food processing and preservation, development of nutritious foods for infant and child feeding. 

Dr. Faith is the current Head of the Department of Nutritional Science and Dietetics, a result-oriented person with strong oratory, and organizational skills.  She is an author and accomplished lecturer on food and nutrition security, maternal and child nutrition, food processing and preservation, food crop farming, nutrition status evaluation, and diet therapy, among others. She has authored two books on the field of nutrition. She is an educationist with a special interest in supporting women and girls, to attain a good education for the betterment of themselves and their families. She has a passion for data analysis using SPSS.
