Personal Profile:
Dr Asiimwe is a food scientist and public health nutritionist. She holds a doctoral degree in public health from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), a Masters Degree in Nutrition from the University of Wisconsin-Stout (USA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology from Makerere University, Kampala (Uganda). She also holds postgraduate certificates in Diabetology and Water management and health from the university of Copenhagen and Dundalk Institute of Technology respectively. Dr Asiimwe has vast experience in conducting field-based surveys in Nutrition, Health and WASH specialist with distinct focus on water quality in relation to nutrition and growth trends of infants and children. Previously, Dr. Asiimwe has worked as Principal Nutritionist and Head of nutrition at the ministry of health, Uganda as well the American Federal government at the Texas Department of Health as a Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Nutritionist.
