Personal Profile:
Dr Joweria holds a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the United Graduate School of
Agricultural Sciences, Kagoshima University in Japan and a Master of Science in
Agricultural Sciences from Saga University in Japan. She has authored a number of papers about childhood and elderly malnutrition as well as the relationships between nutrition and agriculture. For the last 10-years, she has worked on various Agriculture-Nutrition studies with both state and non-state actors including; Ministries, Departments and Agencies, International Development Agencies, including Bilateral and Multi-lateral Organizations in the areas of programming for Agriculture, nutrition and health. She has also undertaken several national scale, regional and district level program assessments, reviews and evaluations using qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods approaches. Her continuous interactions and collaboration with national and international researchers gives her a competitive grasp of Food systems, Agriculture-nutrition linkages, Maternal Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition issues including infant and young child and adolescent nutrition at international, regional and national levels.
