Currently, the school runs the following academic programmes:
Department of Family Life and Consumer Studies- Home Economics
Bachelor of Vocational Studies in Home Economics with Education
The Bachelor of Vocational Studies in Home Economics with Education was started in the year 2002. It is a pre-service degree programme targeting ‘A” Level leavers and diploma holders who desire a career in vocational studies in Home Economics. In service candidates are also enrolled into the full-time programme lasting six (6) semesters, or the equivalent of three (3) Academic Years. At the end of the second and third year, students are exposed to a total of 12 weeks of school practice spread into two blocks of 6 weeks each in various educational institutions across the country.
Diploma in Home Economics Vocational Education Secondary
The Diploma in Home Economics Vocational Education Secondary is one of the oldest programmes dating way back in the days of the National Teachers College Kyambogo when it was known as the Diploma in education Secondary (DES). It is a pre-service diploma programme targeting ‘A” Level leavers who desire a career in vocational studies in Home Economics. The candidates are enrolled into the full-time programme lasting four (4) semesters, or the equivalent of two (2) Academic Years. At the end each academic year, students are exposed to a total of 12 weeks of school practice spread into two blocks of 6 weeks each in various educational institutions across the country. The programme has been developed in such a way that graduates are able to join the Bachelor of Vocational Studies in Home Economics with Education (BVS.HE/ED) in the second year. The programme has a strong component vocational education so as to answer Uganda’s vision of skilling Uganda and vocationalisation of education in order to train more job creators than job seekers.

Department of Hotel and Institutional Catering
- Diploma in Hotel & Institutional catering (DHIC) and Evening programme
- Bachelor of Hotel and Institutional Catering (BHIC). Day and evening programme
